As the name suggests, my inspiration to create “Persian Rug” actually came from my memory of an exquisite, large, red Persian carpet that use to exist in my grandparent’s house. I am always drawn to rich bold colors and almost all my works reflect those rich colors. In the Indian and Persian cultures, red is a signal of strength, purity and vitality: like blood and fire. Which is what this work signifies.
The details and design patterns reflected in this work are also inspired by the intricate details you see in the finest Persian carpets. After seeing more of my works, you will realize that I have tried to merge the eastern and western influences in my paintings to create my own bold and unique style.
